WOUNDS IN BURMA FATAL FOR SGT. B. K. CARDER.
Sgt. Bernard K. Carder of Maroa who has been serving with the U.S. Army infantry, died April 3 of wounds received in action in Burma.
Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Carder, parents of the soldier, received notification from the War department yesterday.
Sergeant Carder attended Maroa High School and was employed at the Wagner Malleable Iron Co. before entering service May 6, 1942. He took his training at Camp Wolters, Texas, and was sent overseas in September on 1942. He served in Trinidad, India and Burma.
He leaves, besides his parents, two brothers, Harold at home and Paul of Tulsa, Okla, and a sister, Harriet L., at home.
