Dolores Abbene April 26, 2022 Dolores Abbene passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on April 26th surrounded by family at her home in Apulia Station.
A former resident of New York City, Fayetteville, and DeWitt, Dolores was beloved by many, especially her adoring family. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville. She loved reading, writing, gardening, and opera, but most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Louis. She is survived by her three daughters, Cathy Cohen (Rich), Joann Abbene-Meagley (Paul) and Louise Benedetto (Nick); seven grandchildren, Melissa Cole (Harry Winand), Amy Cohen (Dan Mallinger), Louis Abbene-Meagley, Casey Meagley, Jessica, Niko, and Gabriel Benedetto; and four great-grandchildren, Jack, Stella, Daxson, and Lyla.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 4-7 PM on Monday, May 2 at Eaton-Tubbs Chapel, 7191 E Genesee St, Fayetteville. The funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on May 3 at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
