Brian J. "Bud" Pearson, 73, passed away unexpectedly at his home in rural Marinette, WI on April 12, 2022 {one day before his birth date}. The son of Franklin H. and Harriet (Hornick) Pearson, born in Stevens Point on April, WI 13, 1948, but resided in the Marinette, WI area for many decades.

Brian did undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he was a member of the Phi Sigma Epsilon fraternity. He loved information gathering and was a voracious reader, pursuing Library and Information Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and earned three Master's degrees, including one in Horticulture. He had a lifelong interest in biogeography and plant hardiness. He also enjoyed motorcycling and weight lifting and loved animals, especially his dogs.

His studies provided a varied academic background and resulted in multiple teaching licenses. In 2014, he retired from the Oconto Unified School District, where for many years he performed high-school media duties and taught social studies classes including geography, history, government, economics, and sociology, often addressing his students as "sports fans."

While in grad school, Brian met Monica Wilcox at a party.
They married on July 21, 1979.
Monica and her "Hubby" had two children—son George Pearson, who now lives in Suamico, WI and daughter Emily Pearson, who resides in Marinette, WI.
Brian often greeted George by saying "Hey, Old Son," and referred to himself as "Dear Old Dad."

Monica passed away in February 2020, and Brian's parents also preceded him in death.

In addition to his son and daughter, he is survived by a sister, Ann Santos (Phil) of Nevada,
aunt Evelyn Jane Davis of Cecil,
and cousins Jerry Davis of Fort Worth, TX; Joan (Deane) Galloway of Manitowish Waters; and Gary Krutz of Indiana and Florida.
