- Mrs. Dorothy "Ms. Dot" Ashley Turner-Merkl, 94, of Ragland, Alabama passed away on September 1, 2021. Dot was a Ragland High School Graduate, a lifelong member of Ragland Methodist Church, member of Ragland VFW Auxillary, and a member of Ragland Senior Citizen Group. Dot got pleasure working in her church. She loved cutting grass and working in her yard. She especially enjoyed playing cards with her card buddies and dancing. She loved all of her friends which are too many to mention and neighbors who were all so special to her. The girls at the bank will miss her treats. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. The family would like to say thank you to everyone who was so good to look out for her welfare. She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Martha Ashley; her beloved husband of 42 years, Patrick Turner, Sr.; husband, W.L. Merkl; son, Keith Turner; 3 sisters; and 3 brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Dyer; son, Patrick Turner, Jr. and Ronald Turner; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be offered online at usreyfuneralhome.com. Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, is in charge of arrangements.
