Mr. Roger Gerald Ratliff, 61, a lifelong resident of Columbia County, passed away in the Shands at U.F. hospital in Gainesville following an extended illness. He was the son of the late Charles Owen and Margaret Christine Beret Ratliff. Mr. Ratliff had been a heavy equipment operator at Columbia Salvage. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed fishing, garage sales, hanging out with his buddies, and collecting items and putting them in his shop. He referred to his shop as his "EMPIRE". He enjoyed watching old Western's on T.V. but most of all he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and especially enjoyed "aggravating" Connie, his wife of thirty nine years. He was preceded in death by three brothers Richard and Earl Ratliff and Billy Long. Three sister's Joann Terrell, Judy Ratliff, and Sandy Harden also preceded him. Mr. Ratliff attended Huntsville Baptist Church.
