Dale D. Garman, age 89, of Covington, OH, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at Upper Valley Medical Center.

He was born on February 13, 1933 in Miami County to the late Orba Glen Garman and Laura (Williamson) Garman.

He is survived by his wife of almost 67 years: Judy (Murray) Garman; three sons: Michael D. Garman of Covington, OH, Patrick M. and wife Kim Garman of Fountain Hills, AZ and Casey D. and wife Iris Garman of Troy, OH; nine grandchildren: Keye, Kenna, Bella, Kitrick, Branden, Logan, Allison, Lola and Ava; a great-grandchild: Archer.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and nine brothers.

Dale was a graduate of Covington High School. He earned a bachelors in education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and received his master's in education at Xavier University. Dale was a US Army veteran in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Piqua, an avid sports fan, a lifelong runner and enjoyed gardening. Dale was a retired high school teacher and longtime coach of track and cross country for Miami East High School. He was inducted into the Covington Athletics Hall of Fame in 2021. Dale touched the lives of many people across Miami County and beyond as a husband, father, teacher, coach and friend.

Interment will be held in Casstown Cemetery.
