Barbara Ann (Koehler) McIntyre, 86, of Carrabelle, Florida; formerly of Harleysville, PA, Crisfield, MD, and many other locations, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at her residence.

Barbara was the loving wife of the late Allen Richard McIntyre for 67 years. She was born in Northampton, Pennsylvania to the late Granville Herbet Koehler and the late Madeline Arlene (Jones) Koehler.

Barbara graduated from Northampton Area Joint High School, class of 1953. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Barbara was a former member of Faith Bible Fellowship Church in Harleysville, PA. Throughout her travels and attending many churches, she taught Children's Sunday school and helped with Vacation Bible School. Her family enjoyed serving together in Crisfield doing VBS and playing bells. Living in Brazil at the Word of Life Bible Institute were some of their most cherished memories. She has visited churches in many places around the world and enjoyed hosting visitors from around the world in her home. She lived a unique life that few get the opportunity to live as she was able see the world from a business perspective as well as a mission. She served in ways others never get to, and encouraged many along the way.

Allen and Barbara loved spending time with their family. She made family reunions a priority as they built what they called a "grandparent home" and named it the Homestead.

She enjoyed traveling and reading. During her youth, she enjoyed dancing the jitterbug and recently the last few years she began teaching her family and friends how to jitterbug and dance. Her best friend and caretaker, Angela, enjoyed her dancing and hearing all her stories.

Barbara was a caring woman who was a dedicated and loyal wife, she loved serving her husband, Allen. She put him first and sought what was best for him. They prayed together and read verses each morning. Together they wrote down their requests and they both prayed for their family and others. Her last days, she would often pray for long periods at a time. She was a full time homemaker and made sure her 6 kids had everything they needed as they adapted to the many adventures and moves they made. She handled many hats along the way and she loved her family unconditionally.

She is survived by her two daughters, Cindy McIntyre-Lerch & husband, Dutch of Washington, DC, Nancy Ringer & husband, Craig of Salisbury, MD; her four sons, David McIntyre & wife, Desiree of Spring City, PA, Timothy McIntyre & wife, Carla of Slatington, PA, Daniel McIntyre & wife, Justina of Harleysville, PA, Mark McIntyre & wife, Linda of Carrabelle, FL; her 19 grandchildren; her 11 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Nancy Miksits of Northampton, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her grandson, Ronnie Powell and her brother-in-law, John Miksits.
