Twin sister to Ora Augusta Thomasson
Cora Lunsford Nichols, 96 of Andrews died Friday, January 18, 2002 in Athens, Alabama.
A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jackson "TJ" and Exie Ann Johnson Thomasson and the wife of the late Charles "Charlie" Jefferson Lunsford and Chauncey T. Nichols.
She was a homemaker and had been an employee of Owenby Manufacturing. She was a member of the Andrews First Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Frances Ann Lunsford, Nelson of Athens, Alabama; a son, C. J. Lunsford of Awendaw, South Carolina; and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held January 21, 2002 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home in Andrews with the Rev. Ron McClure officiating. Burial was in the Valleytown cemetery. Pallbearers were David Young, Chuck Grant, Chuck Duncan, Eddie Lunsford, Bennie Lunsford and Bill Lunsford, Jr.
The family request memorials be made to the Valleytown Cemetery Fund, c/o Town Hall, P. O. Box 1210, Andrews, NC 28901.
Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews was in charge of all arrangements.
