Andrews - John Henry Thomasson, 74 of Erwin formerly of Andrews, died Saturday.
He was a retired principal and school teacher in North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Thomasson, Moffet.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Ida McCabe, Thomasson; two stepsons, Wilton Byrd of Willow and George E. Byrd of Durham; three sisters, Mrs. Zora Gregory, Mrs. Cora Nichols and Mrs. Ora Lunsford all of Andrews; two brothers, Fulton Thomasson of Andrews and T J Thomasson of Knoxville, Tenn., and eight step-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a. m. Tuesday at Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews. The Rev. Thomas Wells will officiate. Burial will be in Valleytown Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p. m. Monday at the funeral home.
