Betty Jane Landis, of Lafayette, IN, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Digby Place, just a week after celebrating her 99th birthday with family, Digby Place staff and fellow residents.

She was born on January 7, 1924, in Little Rock, AR, to the late Albert Perry and Fern G. (Kyle) Greene. Betty married Jack R. Landis on June 16, 1945 in Hobart, IN. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1978. Also preceding her in death are two brothers, Jay Greene and Bill Greene.

Betty raised her family in the Vandergraff addition and enjoyed living in her home for over 68 years prior to moving to Digby Place assisted living in 2021 and making new friends there. Betty was a retired secretary from TRW Ross Gear and a member of the Lafayette Business and Professional Women's Club. In the early 1940s, she was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. After retiring, she volunteered at Franciscan Health for more than 15 years.

Betty enjoyed league bowling, crossword puzzles, playing Solitaire on her iPad, enjoying the weather on her patio and getting manicures with family friend Judy George. Betty also loved her cats, Buddy and Baby Girl and spending time with her family and dear friends, the Cassini's.

Surviving are two sons; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
