Preceded in death by his wife, Louise (Pierce) Akler on Aug. 10, 2002.

Survivors: son, William Jr. of Cheney; daughter, Lisa Richardson of Buhler; sister, Dorothy Garfield of Haysville; nine grandchildren. Memorial established with American Lung Association. Wulf-Ast Mortuary.

Cheney- William Eugene Akler, 75, died Nov. 23, 2002, at Kingman.

He was born May 21, 1927 at Midian, the son of George W. and Maude Lanfear Akler. A resident of Cheney, he was the former owner of Lakeside Bait Shop.

On April 9, 1951, he married Louise Pierce at Wichita. She died March 10, 2001.

Survivors include: a son, William Jr., Cheney; a daughter, Lisa Richardson, Buhler; a sister, Dorothy Garfield, Haysville; and nine grandchildren.

Graveside funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Fairview cemetery, Cheney, with the Rev. Dr. Kenton Van presiding.
