Fred utilized his 89 years of life to give back to others. He honorably served in the US Armed Forces as a Medical Technician during the Korean War where he was stationed in Enewetak Atoll. He returned home to earn his college degree in Agriculture and Masters in Biology. He extended his reach of service to the local children of Red River and Natchitoches Parishes as their science teacher and basketball coach. Fred enjoyed adventure and created many memories as he traveled the country with his wife, children, and grandchildren. His special love for our nation's parks made them recurring destinations he delighted in. He further appreciated reaping what he sowed in the soil and was well known for his fruitful and bountiful gardens.

Fred was a man of great integrity and strong, compassionate convictions. He was a devout servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and living example of discipleship, inspiration, and encouragement to others. He loved his church, his wife and family, and his community. It is with great honor that we celebrate his full and joyful life and remember the innumerable contributions he left behind.
