Claudine Helen (Alward) Deerr, 95, of Lafayette, IN, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the BeeHive Memory Care in Lafayette, IN.

She was born on December 16, 1927 to the late Claude and Helen (Duchene) Alward in Kingman, IN. Claudine graduated in 1945 from Thornton Fractional TWSP High School and from Canterbury College in 1949. On July 30, 1950, she married her sweetheart, Johnnie Deerr.

Claudine was a teacher with the Lafayette School Corporation for 33 ½ years, retiring in 1991. She previously worked in Pittsboro, Forrest and Darlington.

Claudine enjoyed golf, tennis, bowling and traveling. She was a member of Retired Teachers, Alpha Theta Epsilon, the American Legion Aux. and a member of the Crestview United Brethren Church.

Surviving are two daughters; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister, Phyllis Renzetti.

Funeral services will take place at 11 AM on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Hippensteel Funeral Home in Lafayette, IN with visitation one hour prior to the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. Interment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens
