Funeral services for Ernest Cohee will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. T.E. Anderson officiating. Interment will be at Cobb Cemetery in Springer.

Cohee was born July 8, 1926, in Springer, to Calvin and Letha Cohee. He died Oct. 14, 1999, in a Detroit, Mich., hospital.

Leaving Springer, he served three years in World War II and lived in Fort Worth, Texas a number of years. Then moving to Detroit, Ernest worked for Budd Motor plant from 1963 until he retired in 1992.

He is survived by his companion, Lovie Reynolds of Detroit; a daughter, Kalsria Phillips of Fort Worth; two brothers, Melvin Cohee, Kansas City, Mo., and Ralph Cohee, Lone Grove; two sisters, Myrtle Lee Williamson, Ardmore, and Opal Mae Cannady, Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a foster grandson, Tegar of Detroit; two devoted sisters-in-law, Frances Cohee, Wichita, Kan., and Christina Cohee, Lone Grove.

Bearers will be members of American Legion Post 254. Honorary bearers are Wardell Williamson, Joseph Williamson, Charles Cohee, Larry Cohee, Tallie Gray and R.C. Cohee.

Ragsdale-Grant and Sons Mortuary will direct services.
