William Willis Jones was born in Millbrook township, Peoria county, March 20, 1900, the son of William A. and Hattie Givens Jones. He attended schools in Peoria county and also Brown's Business College in Galesburg.
He was united in marriage to Villa L. Shaw in Williamsfield Methodist church November 10, 1923. To this union two daughters and one son were born.
He was engaged in farming for several years and was active in 4-H club leadership before being employed at the Caterpillar Tractor company. He opened his restaurant in Princeville five and one half years ago. He spent his entire life in the Laura and Princeville communities and was a member of the Princeville Methodist church.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Virginia and husband, Hogan Reid of Farmington; Judy at home; a son, William A. and wife of Laura; two grandchildren, Bobby and Suzanne Reid; five brothers, Fred of Laura, Winsor of Manhattan, Ill., Frank of Mt. Pleasant, Ia., Harry of Abingdon and Reece of DeLong; four sisters Mrs. Clara Shafer, Mrs. Annis Day and Mrs. Ruth Cole of Abingdon and Mrs. Mable Sells of River Grove. One brother, Edgar, preceded him in death.
