John Lange, 96, of Harrisville, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Transitions Healthcare Autumn Grove in Harrisville, PA.

A son of the late Bernhard Lange and Julia (Grenz) Lange, he was born January 4, 1926, in Hyde Park, PA.

John grew up in Hyde Park and worked as a police officer in the Borough as well as becoming President of Borough Council at one time. For 42 years, he was employed as a manager for Allegheny Ludlum Steel in West Leechburg and Bagdad retiring in 1987. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II receiving many medals including the Purple Heart. John was a member of Forks-Zion Lutheran Church in Gilpin Township, the Hyde Park Vol. Fire Dept. (President), the VFW Post 92 of New Kensington, the Elks Lodge #377of Leechburg, the Sokol Club of Leechburg, and the F&AM Lodge #239 of Leechburg. He enjoyed gardening, golf, yard work, cooking and baseball.

Survivors include his son, John H. Lange; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Margaret (Frisch) Lange in 1998; six brothers, Fritz, Curtis, Walter "Red", George and two in infancy; and a sister, Marie Ann Schrecengost.

Interment will be in Pleasant Hills Cemetery, Allegheny Township.
