"This Tablet marks the site of Pioneer Lutheran and reformed church none as Klingenschmidts "Tishkiminetas Allegheny or "Salem" Church Lutheran services began in this section began about 1780. The congregation was organized Sept 4 1814 at the Jacob Klingenschmidts farm about one mile south of this point where a log church was erected in 1822. A brick church was erected on this site about the same time the land donated by Daniel Frantz. After 1814 both groups worshiped in this church. The burial ground was used as early as 1810. The following pastors served the Lutheran Congregation: John M Streck 1810, John A Mohler 1814, Jacob Zimmerman. The reformed Congregation merged with Lutherans in 1852. The Lutheran Congregation ceased to worship here May 28 1860, after which time its LUI continued thru the Lutheran of Leechburg. This tablet erected and dedicated 1934 in honor of the pioneer who bones buried by the preceding member of Cemetery Association D.N. Sober President, F.P. Kepple Secretary, A.E. Spropre an John E Zimmerman."
