James Henderson, President of Directory Firm, Widely Known Throughout the West. Word has been received from Los Angeles that the death occurred yesterday in that city of James Henderson, president of the Henderson Directories, which has branches throughout the west and published among others the Vancouver and Victoria directories.
The late Mr. Henderson was born in Montreal 73 years ago and came west to Winnipeg in the early days when quite a young man. Like many other Winnipeg pioneers he followed various callings. For a considerable time he was the government stamp vendor at the Winnipeg post office. First took hold of the Winnipeg Directory and made a success of it, following this up from city to city, until nearly the entire west was covered. ... The widow and three sons, ... and two married daughters, survive him.
