Shane Evans, 34, of Sykesville, died Friday, September 5, 2003, at University of Maryland Shock Trauma due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born December 15, 1968, in Maryland, he was the son of Michael R. and Theresa M. Leonard Evans of Sykesville.

He was the husband of Cathy Carpenter Evans of Sykesville, his wife of 10 years.
He was a 1986 graduate of Liberty High School. He was a police officer with the City of Annapolis Police and had previously been with the Howard County Police. He enjoyed hunting.

Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are son, Cody J. Evans of Sykesvillep; daughter, Sara C. Evans of Sykesville; sister, Michele Evans-Graves of Sykesville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Anne Carpenter of Woodbine; nieces, Brooke Carpenter and Taylor Evans-Graves' and nephew, Mark Carpenter Jr.
He was predeceased by a nephew.

Funeral services will be held on today, September 11, at 11 a.m. from Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Interment is in Oak Grove Cemetery, Glenwood.
