According to Bob Dunnavant, Abel Burton Dunnavant is the son of Joel Dunnavant who fought in the Revolutionary War. Along with Abel's wife Sarah M "Sallie" his son Peter Green Dunnavant, a Civil War Soldier in the 53rd Tenn. and his son Thomas Jefferson Dunnavant are buried in this cemetery as well. There are several unmarked graves. (found on page 496 of the Tombstone Inscriptions of Limestone County, Alabama compiled by Linda H. Smith in 1993.
