FORMER TEACHER DIES
Miss May Masterson, 54, Former School Teacher, Passes Here Monday
Miss May Masterson, 54, native Wichitan and former teacher at Allison intermediate school, died Monday following an illness of several years.
Member of a pioneer family, Miss Masterson moved to Fort Scott when a small child. After graduating from Pittsburg Teachers college, she returned to Fort Scott and taught school there from 1910 until 1929, when she accepted a contract to teach at the Wichita school. She was a member of the Baptist church. Her home was at 520 South Glenn.
Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Masterson, 520 South Glenn; two sisters, Mrs. W. V. Dickson and Mrs. Cora Land, both of Ft. Scott, and two brothers, C. B. of the home address, and Thomas S., of Dallas, Tex. Funeral services will be announced by Flanagan and Bourman mortuary.
