Born in Harrisburg, on May 21, 1947, he was the son of the late Ray E. and Martha E. Wingert Fisher.
A 1966 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School, Robert was a computer engineer for EDS. He enjoyed mowing his grass, hunting, fishing, and reading and studying the Bible.
Robert was survived by his wife, Sylvia Fisher, whom he married on March 8, 1969; sons, Timothy Fisher (Laura) of Ellwood City, Mark Fisher (Christy) of Hummelstown, Peter Fisher (Tara) of Hummelstown; daughters, Ruth Bechtel (Dale) of Lebanon, Esther Moore (Jacen) of Hummelstown; 15 grandchildren, Gabriel Fisher, Isaiah Fisher, Gideon Fisher, Alexis Moore, Morgan Moore, Charity Risko (Stephen), Kenneth Bechtel, Ryan Bechtel, Jacob Fisher, Melisa Novak (Nathan), Heidi McClain (Nigel), Luke Fisher, Michael Fisher, Elijah Fisher, and Caleb Fisher; 2 great grandchildren, Konner McClain and Kaysen McClain; and a sister Barb Nusz of Middletown.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Caleb Fisher; a brother, Edward R. Fisher; and a sister, Catherine Fisher.
The funeral service for Robert will be held Friday, April 1, 2022, at 11:00 am in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Jarrod Cruise, of Lebanon Bible Fellowship Church, officiating. Interment will be in Hummelstown Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service in the funeral home.
