Georgia Hellar, 91, Dies at Her Home

Mrs. Georgia Anna Hellar, 91, of 3218 East Third, a pioneer Wichitan, died at her home Saturday morning. She was born Sept. 18, 1860 at Paradise, Tenn.

Mrs. Hellar came to Wichita in 1878 with her parents. She was a member of the St. James Episcopal church, Daughters of the King, Twentieth Century club, and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Bessie Lee Dietrich, 3218 East Third; two sons, Martin Hellar, 6 Brookfield road, and Slayden Hellar, Los Angeles; three brothers, J. W. Slayden and Dr. R. H. Slayden, both of Tacoma, Wash., and M. C. Slayden, Pueblo, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. C. N. Green, and Mrs. Antoinette Tucker, both of Los Angeles; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the St. James Episcopal church. Rev. Samuel E. West will officiate. Burial will be in the Highland cemetery under direction of the Lahey mortuary. Friends may call at the mortuary from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Pallbearers will be R. H. McAlister, Walter B. Ash, Earl Moore, Robert Armstrong, Roy Frisbee and Bill Grabendike.
