Mr. Thomas Daniel "Dan" Bennett, 80 of Waycross, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022, at his residence.

Born in Bristol, GA on December 12, 1941, he had lived in Pierce and Ware counties most of his life. After graduating from Patterson High School, Dan began his career at O'Quinn's Pharmacy in Patterson. He then moved to Athens, GA to pursue his education at University of Georgia. After leaving school, he joined in the U.S. Navy where he served for a few years. He began his career in interior design at Rich's Department Store in both Atlanta and California. He later returned home to care for his grandmother and also worked with his father at Bristol Carpet Center where he designed drapes. After a while, he joined his father in Waycross and opened his own store, Dan's Designs, which adjoined Marr Carpets. Dan then moved on to work at DeShazo's where he worked for several years before opening his own business, Dan Bennett Interiors. His most favorite time of the year was Christmas where he loved to decorate his church and for family and friends. Mr. Dan was a member of Bristol Baptist church.

Mr. Bennett was a son of the late John L. "Johnny" and Sylvia Beatrice Kimmons Marr. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Buddy Bryant.

Survivors include his canine child, Charsley; four sisters, Margaret (Bud) Burnette and Sue (DJ) Johnston both of Midlothian, VA and Carol Bryant and Kay (Lucius) Yeomans both of Bristol, GA; and other relatives and special friends.

Visitation for Mr. Bennett will be held Wednesday evening, March 30, 2022, 2-3 at the funeral home.

A private graveside service will be held at Bristol Cemetery.
