Attorneys representing Billy Joe Bean, Jr. intend to rely on self-defense due to significant issues of ongoing severe mental, emotional and physical abuse by the victim against his entire family, including the wife, children, and defendant, who acted for years as the family protector. Billy, Jr., age 24, is a factory worker.

The elder Billy was married to Diane Marie Soliver in 1968. They were married 25 years, then divorced. Diane recalled moving 35 times during their marriage.
