Shirley Stephens, age 82, passed away late Monday evening on March 21, 2022.
Shirley was born on January 27, 1940 in Burns to the late Clarence E. & Gertrude H. (Monaghan) Nichols. She married James Stephens Sr. when she was 16 and together raised 5 children. Shirley had many jobs over the years but she was a proud nurse's aid at the VA in Bath for many years. Shirley enjoyed sewing, cooking & gardening. She loved having parties and being with her family whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is predeceased by her husband Jim who passed in 2003; and her grandchildren: Lyza Globa, Keith Stephens & Jeffrey Stephens.
Shirley is survived by her children: Julie (Steve) Wray, Kenneth Stephens Sr., James Stephens Jr., Eugene Stephens & William Paul Stephens; 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
Family & friends are invited to call from 4pm – 6pm on Friday, March 25, 2022 at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Wayland. A memorial service will be held at 6pm at the conclusion of calling hours. Burial will occur at a later date in Canaseraga Cemetery.
