Esther M. Fairchild, widow of Samuel B. Fairchild, died very suddenly yesterday morning, of heart failure, at the age of 72 years. She was apparently well and arose as usual and, after dressing, went out into the yard. She was taken with a dizzy spell and faintness, and fell. She was carried in, and a physician was summoned, who did all that be done to revive her.
Mr. and Mrs. Fairchild came to Wichita in May, 1878. Mr. Fairchild died in October, 1879. After that time Mrs. Fairchild made her home with her son-in-law Abram Smith at 437 North Lawrence avenue. She has a daughter Kitty married to Mr. George W. Bear, whose home is at Hennessey, O. T. Another daughter Mrs. J. L. Sennett at Coronado Beach, Cal. She has been visiting here this summer and started for home a few days ago. Funeral will be held at the residence, 437 North Lawrence avenue at 3 p.m., Sunday afternoon.
