killed in action Sept. 6, 1943 in a combat mission over Stutgart, Gemany
born in Central Falls
graduated from Central Falls High School in June, 1941
employed at the Quonset Naval Air Station as a civilian prior to his induction into the Army Air Force on Oct. 6, 1942. After training in the West he went overseas on June 20, 1943.
he was a tail gunner in a B-17 Flying Fortess. On his fatal mission he was reported to have shot down two enemy aircraft before meeting death
his plane was eventuallly shot down but survivors reported that he was given a suitable burial in enemy territory.
his body was returned Sept. 9, 1948
survived by his parents, his maternal grandmother and several uncles and auntsTail gunner. Killed In Action.

Shot down by fighter, near Dettingen an der
Erms, Germany, aboard B-17F-45-DL Flying
Fortress #42-3289.

Three crew killed, seven bailed out and taken
Prisoner of War.
