Mary Ann Goursuch was born in Baltimore county, Maryland, March 13, 1833, died at her home near Circleville, Kansas, January I, 1909, being 75 years, 9 months and 20 days old. When she was quite young her parents moved to Iowa. At Oskaloosa, Iowa, she was united in marriage on January 23, 1850, to John Deardorff, who was buried Jan. 18 1907,just two years before the day she died. To this union were born 12 children, seven of whom are gone before to welcome father and mother, while five remain to mourn their loss. The first two and the last two children died in infancy, Johnny was killed by lightening at the age of four; Charley died at six and Hugh at 33 years of age. The living children are Joshua, Mary, William, Laura and Effie. The grandchildren number 36living and two dead, great grandchildren 16, her living descendants being 57. She joined theM. E. church at about fifteen years of age, and until her death, remained a faithful member . . . . interment was in Circleville cemetery.

Oak Grove. Uncle Lew Goursuch and wife were called here by the death of her sister, are visiting his sister, Mrs. Moore this week.
