The 94-year-old monarch's dog Vulcan died at Windsor Castle, where she and Prince Philip have been staying amid the coronavirus pandemic.
In recent years, her pack has grown smaller, and after the death of her dachshund-corgi mix Vulcan in 2020, she was down to a single pooch, Candy, before she received the puppies earlier this year, statement MAY 20, 2021

Vulcan was a dorgi, a mix between a corgi and a dachshund. Vulcan's death leaves the Queen with just one dog, another dorgi named Candy. Vulcan was one of the four dogs who starred alongside the Queen in a striking set of portraits shot for the her 90th birthday by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz. Dec 4, 2020
Vulcan, who featured on the front of Vanity Fair with the monarch in 2016, was a cross between a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and a dachshund. In 1971, one of the queen's corgis named Tiny mated with Princess Margaret's dachshund Pipkin and gave birth to six puppies.

Queen Elizabeth previously said she didn't want to have any more dogs – in part because it risked her tripping over one of the pets and also because she didn't want to leave any young dogs behind.
Vulcan's passing comes just 2 weeks after Prince William and Kate Middleton mourned the death of their family dog, a cocker spaniel named Lupo.
