Jana Van Valkenburgh, age 58, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022 in Sugar Land, Texas.
Jana was born in Victoria, Texas and lived in Chappaqua, New York, and Charleston, West Virginia before moving to Houston. After graduating from Westchester High School, she completed her education at Stephen F Austin where she earned a degree in Hotel Management. She enjoyed cooking for friends and family; as well as, preparing meals for those in need. Her love for animals was witnessed by all who knew her through her steadfast efforts toward animal rescues in Sugar Land. Her deep-rooted love for dogs led her to care for rescued dogs throughout her life. She was known for her generosity and warmth toward animals.
Jana is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and JoAnna Van Valkenburgh and will be greatly missed by her brother Joe and his wife Bonnie.
A gravesite ceremony will be held on March 29th, at 10 AM at the Memorial Oaks Cemetery at 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079.
In lieu of customary remembrances, please make any memorial contributions to the Fort Bend Women's Center, the Lighthouse for the Blind, or your local animal shelter.
