Anthony "Tony" Giuffre, age 82, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022. He was born to Anthony and Thelma Giuffre Sr. in Freeport, IL. In October 1960, he married his high school sweetheart, Rita Tobin. Tony was the oldest child of a vibrant Sicilian family surrounded by extended family. He was an accomplished Master mold maker who later started his own Mold Making business, Progressive Molds.

After a few years of marriage, Tony and Rita purchased a farm needing lots of work and the young couple never stopped fixing the house, barn and sheds. There were horses, cattle, chickens, dogs and cats. Weekend horse rides were a family pastime.

When Tony and Rita retired, they moved south to a beautiful property next to the Shawnee National Forest. They built their home and tamed the immediate area into a beautiful park-like setting. Days were spent working on their paradise and riding the Shawnee trails with their many horse friends. The last couple of years, Tony lived near his daughters and enjoyed family time and eating out.

Tony will be dearly missed by his children, Jennifer (Tom) Vos, Theresa (Mark) Schneider and Mark Giuffre; sister, Jean (Willy) Alber; brother, Tom (Nancy) Giuffre; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita; parents; and sisters, Nancy Jacoby and Marilyn (Gene) Evans.

Tony and Rita will be laid to rest together at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Freeport.
