She was born October 24, 1928 in Waxhaw, NC.
She graduated from The Women's College of UNC, now known as UNCG. She taught in NC public schools in Union & Anson County until her retirement. After retirement she spent many years volunteering at Meals On Wheels.
She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and great-grandmother.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Roger Duval and Rebecca Redwine Duval; her brother Andre Duval; her daughter Elizabeth Myers; and her husband of 69 years David C. Myers Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Hazel Stone; 3 children, Roger Myers & wife Sandy; Alan Myers; & Betsy Myers Herron. Also surviving are her grandchildren Susan Myers Furr and husband Jeff; & Jason Myers and wife Amber. Her surviving great grandchildren are Maggie Furr, Sammie Jo Furr, Jase Furr, and Parker Myers. Barbara is also survived by many nieces and nephews, many of whom called her the best aunt ever.
A family only graveside service will be held at Waxhaw Cemetery.
