John Lawrence Maloney, 75, of Lafayette, IN, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022.

He was born on June 3, 1946 in Lafayette, IN to Robert John and Naomi Beatrice (Suaco) Maloney.

After graduation, John married Lizbeth Williams, who bore him two children. This ended in divorce. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard and the United States Air Force Reserves for 26 years. While in the Guard, John developed a reputation as a no nonsense NCO, who once ejected a senior officer from his mess on hygiene grounds. John then graduated from Ivy Tech's Nursing Program in 1982 as a registered nurse. He retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital in 2003.

On June 13, 2016, he married Brenda Kay (Dilport) Gause in Lafayette, IN and she preceded him in death on March 15, 2020.

John was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 492. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and traveling.

Surviving are two children; two siblings; and seven grandchildren.

Private family services will be held, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
