Mr. Campbell was a retired forest technician with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of Harmony Lodge No. 1, Wahabi Temple in Jackson. He was a member of Meadville Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Blount Campbell; his parents, Ben Campbell and Catherine Brown Campbell; one brother and one sister.

He was survived by his wife, Shirley Stanley Campbell; two sons, David Campbell and wife Stayce of Meadville, and Steve Campbell and wife Gail of Covington, LA; two daughters, Susan Martin and husband Bobby of Jena, LA, and Sherry Campbell of Brookhaven; two stepdaughters, Jean Campbell and Judy Hudson; a sister-in-law, Pearl Campbell of Wilkesboro, NC; 3 grandchildren, 6 stepgrandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
