Special to The Times-Democrat. Donaldsonville, La., March 22 - Judge John H. Ilsley, Jr., a native of this place, but for some years past a resident of New Orleans and more recently of Lake Charles, La., died at the last named town at 8 o'clock yesterday morning. His remains were brought here by way of the Southern Pacific Railway and steamer Teche and interred in the Isley family tomb at the Catholic Cemetery this afternoon. Judge Ilsley was fifty-six years of age and leaves a widow, two sons and two daughters, all grown, besides many more distant relatives to mourn him. One of his daughters is Mrs. Alex. Jolet, Jr., wife of the editor and co-proprietor of the Thibodaux Sentinel. Judge IIsley's father was one of the ablest lawyers in Louisiana, and was for several years an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the State. Deceased was himself an excellent lawyer, a man of warm heart and generous impulses, and his death will be deplored by a very large circle of friends.

Thibodaux, March 22.-This morning, by the Southern Pacific Railroad from the west, the remains of John H. Ilsley, who died yesterday morning in Lake Charles, were brought to Thibodaux and embarked on board the steamboat Teehe, that had awaited the arrival of the train, for transportation to Donaldsonville for burial in the family tomb. The deceased was a well-known citizen, a son of the late John Ilsley, formerly a famous lawyer of Donaldsonville, and subsequently a judge of the Supreme Court. Of late years deceased has been in feeble health, and his death was not unexpected. His family attended the body to its final resting place.
