Betty, 87, passed from this life on March 4, 2022 surrounded by her family, she was born in Purcell, OK on April 26, 1934 to Joseph & Hassie Marcotte.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Newton; son Michael; siblings; Theresa Freeman, Mary Gray, Linda Kane, Lillian Martin & Charlie Marcotte. She is survived by sons William & Ronnie Freeman; daughters Donna Skaggs & Dena Rubrecht; daughter in law Sharon Lieurance; siblings; Henry & Raymond Marcotte & Dixie Meenes. Eighteen grandchildren & a host of Great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3-6 PM at Vondel Smith Mortuary at South Lakes 4000 S. W. 119th OKC, 73173, Wake services will follow at 6:30 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church 4201 S. McKinley OKC 73139.

Betty, 87, passed from this life surrounded by her family on March 4, 2022. Betty was born April 26, 1934 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Joseph & Hassie (McClure) Marcotte. Betty graduated from Mount Saint Mary High School class of 1952. She married Newton Theodore Freeman on June 6th 1955, in Oklahoma City, to this union five children were born, Michael, Donna, William, Ronald & Dena. Betty desired to serve others & did so following her education at the Mercy School of Nursing where she became a Registered Nurse, working at the original Mercy Hospital in downtown Oklahoma City & later South Community Hospital, lovingly caring for & serving those in her community for over 25 years until her retirement in 1981.
Betty was a loving & attentive wife, mother, grandmother & friend; she could always be counted on to help in anyone's time of need. She was a charter member of St. James Greater Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, and was active in the church ministries.
She loved fishing, gardening, camping & oil painting. She shared her art with many family & friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years Newton; one son Michael; one daughter-in-law Josie, siblings Theresa Freeman, Mary Gray, Linda Kane, Lillian Martin & Charlie Marcotte.
She leaves cherished memories & her legacy continues in the lives of those who survive her, daughter Donna Skaggs & her husband David, two sons; Bill & his wife Maraline, Ronnie & his wife Karrie; daughter Dena Rubrecht & her husband Richard; daughter-in-law, Sharon Lieurance; Brothers; Henry & Raymond Marcotte; Sister; Dixie Menees; Eighteen grandchildren & Fifteen great grandchildren, & a host of nieces, nephews & extended family & close friends.
