==============================
Word was received in Salida yesterday of the death of John T. Ware of Denver, father of Mrs. Frank Churcher of this city. Mr. Ware had been living at apartments 2149 Court Place, Denver. The dead body was found yesterday noon by roomers who investigated when they detected the odor of gas in the hallway. The tube was attached to a gas plate and in some way it had become detached, and Ware, who was old and very feeble, succumbed to the gas fumes and was unable to help himself. Mr. Ware came to Chaffee County in 1880, lived at Monarch for a time and later moved to Salida. For a number of years he acted in the capacity of freight agent for the Denver & Rio Grande road at this point and also served as city clerk, during the year of 1900. Mrs. Ware died twenty-five years ago and is buried in one of the local cemeteries. The remains of Mr. Ware will be interred in Denver, however, and the funeral services will be held Sunday. Mrs. Frank Churcher left today for Denver. Two sons and four daughters are left to mourn their loss: George Ware of Denver, Charles Ware of Arizona, Mrs. Jennie Hawkins and Mrs. John Bugg of Denver, Mrs. Ira Cope of Grand Junction and Mrs. Frank Churcher of this city. Mr. Ware was in his eighty first year at the time of his sudden death. He was a member of the E. M. Stanton Post G. A. R. and was well known in the city.
