She was born Nov. 3, 1937, in Meredosia, the daughter of Walter and Carrie Boehs Clark. She married Harold Battefeld on Dec. 14, 1956, in Meredosia, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1997.
Mrs. Battefeld was a 1955 graduate of Meredosia High School. She had worked as a rural letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 30 years. She enjoyed traveling and was an accomplished quilter. Deloris especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
