Eddie Gene Withers
December 24, 1939 - February 26, 2022
U.S. VETERAN

Mr. Eddie Gene Withers, Sr. was born December 24, 1939 to the late Jessie Lee Withers and Essie Hines in England, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Withers; mother, Essie Hines; daughter, Sandra Faye Withers-Dunbar; sister, Dolores Smith; and brothers Junior (Sleepy) Williams, Charles Hines and Kelly Hines, Sr.

Eddie believed in working hard doing your best at whatever task you have. The early years of his life he enlisted in the United States Army where he served diligently. He met and married the love of his life Voice Withers. To this union five children were born. He also worked at Pine Bluff Cotton Belt for a number of years after his service in the military. He was not satisfied there and knew he was capable of more.

He accepted a position at the Arsenal as a QA Specialist. He found joy in this position because it afforded him the opportunity to travel the world. He loved to travel and share with his family about the things he saw and was able to do. He made many friends both near and far. He retired after over 25 years at the Arsenal.

On February 26, 2022 Eddie answered the Lord's call to take his final retirement.

Eddie's life was one well lived. He will be cherished and remembered by his sons Larry G. Withers and Eddie Withers, Jr of Altheimer, AR. Jessie Withers of Atlanta, GA. Edward Reams of Pine Bluff, AR. Brenda Withers-Hill (Connally) of Oxford, AL. Denise Reams of Little Rock, AR. Tina Reams of Texas. Two sisters, Lola Hines and June Hines both of Cincinnati, OH.
