Gladys Marie Stovall Armstrong.
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she went home Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, to be with our Heavenly Father. She was 71, born May 29, 1936, in Anderson County, Texas, to the late Rev. John Merk Stovall and Mrs. Ima Jenevia Smith Stovall. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Armstrong was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Williams; brother, John Hershell Stovall; sister, Irma Geneva Morvant; and brother, James Stovall. She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Bert Armstrong, originally of Plaquemines Parish and now a resident of Baker; two children, daughter, Cynthia Dianne Armstrong Budhisetiawan and husband Yunus, of Concord, N.C.; son, Steven Charles Armstrong and wife Isabel, of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren, Aaron Olson-Levi Budhisetiawan and wife Barbara, of Mars Hill, N.C., Heather Lorraine-Levi Budhisetiawan Mudge and husband Jarvis, of Kernersville, N.C., Tracie Maria Armstrong and Steven Donald Armstrong, both of Baton Rouge, and Kyle Austin-Levi Budhisetiawan, of Concord; two great-grandchildren, Yoel Dariyen Naranjo, of Baton Rouge, and Aaron Olson-Judah "A.J." Budhisetiawan, of Mars Hill; a sister, Dora Russell, of Palestine, Texas; a brother, Edwin Stovall and wife Marita, of Mountalba, Texas; and many beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Baker Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes Thursday, Jan. 3, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Paul Brill will officiate. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be son-in-law, Yunus Semion Budhisetiawan; grandsons, Aaron Olson-Levi Budhisetiawan, Jarvis Daniel Mudge, Steven Donald Armstrong and Kyle Austin-Levi Budhisetiawan; and friend, Yoel Ramon Naranjo.
