Katherine Robenia (Balzer) Springer, 71, formerly of Wichita / Hutchinson, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Spring View Manor, Conway Springs, Kansas.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021 from the Ebersole Mortuary Chapel, Conway Springs with Chaplain David Benavides of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice officiating. Interment will follow in Buhler Municipal Cemetery, Buhler, Kansas. A memorial has been established to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of Ebersole Mortuary, Conway Springs.

Kathy was born March 11, 1950 at Wichita, Kansas the daughter of Ernest John Balzer and Mary Robenia (Davis) Balzer. She grew up in Wichita and attended Wichita public schools. She graduated from Wichita North High School with the class of 1968. Kathy continued her education at Kansas State University before transferring and finishing her degree in education at Southwestern College, Winfield, Kansas.

She was united in marriage to Scott Springer in 1974 and they lived near Columbus, Ohio.

Kathy spent most of her life in the Wichita / Hutchinson area. She was a landowner as well as a substitute teacher and employee for Blue Cross / Blue Shield before her health prevented her from working.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her aunt Rose Davis and aunt Fidelia (Balzer) Plett.

She is survived by one sister Rosemary Balzer of Sherwood, Oregon, her dear friends Judy Casner and Dean and Dixie Brewster of Milton, Kansas and her caregivers from Spring View Manor.
