WICHITA - Ernest J. Balzer, 68, died Monday at Veterans Administration Hospital. Born March 14, 1909 at Inman, he married Helen Hodge Welch. He was a retired landowner and investor and lived in Wichita all of his life.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Albert Pike Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies, Midian Shrine, Crestview Country Club.
Survivors include the widow; daughters: Rosemary Balzer, Overland Park; Mrs. Kathy Springer, Columbus, Ohio; sister: Mrs. Fidelia Platt, Osawatomie.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at the church; Revs. Richard B. Wilke and Herbert Cockerill. Burial in Buhler Cemetery. Friends may call at the Downing East Mortuary, Wichita, until Friday morning.
