Daughter of Henry Roy Gordon and Grace Andrews. She graduated from Franklin County High School in 1943 and married James Vaughan in 1945. She was a full-time homemaker for many years while raising her three children to school age. In 1963, she and James moved from Toccoa to Marietta, where he worked at Lockheed. She began working in the elementary school cafeteria, first at Mt. View and then at Kincaid. They attended Sandy Plains Baptist Church. Following James' death in 1976, she married Charlie Duncan in 1977. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Marguerite Smith and Patsy Garland. Surviving are her husband, Charlie Duncan, three children, Beverly Swancy (Carter), Connie Albigese and Douglas Vaughan (Karen); two stepdaughters; ten grandchildren, Brad Swancy, Wes Swancy (Charlotte), Drew Swancy (Emily), Tara Van Ness, Matt Albigese, Michael Vaughan (Angelyn), Laura Hyer (Dan), Elizabeth Johnson-Greaux (Drew), Allison Ventura (Joe), and Bryant Helms (Daphne); sister, Peggy Taylor (Edwin); and brother, James Gordon (Barbara).
