Betty L. Evans, age 77 of Morrisdale, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born April 27, 1944 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Paul McGuire and the late Mary Edna (Harris) Ross and late John Ross.
On October 1, 1961 in First Presbyterian Church, Philipsburg, she wed Bill Evans who survives at home in Morrisdale.
Also surviving are her children, Theresa Couturiaux and husband Vic, Sandy Ridge; Earl Evans and wife Markay, Morrisdale; her grandchildren, Amber Bungo and husband Scott, Carrie Carmon and husband Trey, Ryan Gaines, Brittani Phelan and husband Ryan; Kyle Couturiaux; Kayce English and husband Matt, Denelle Evans and companion Kirk Bruner, Roy Evans and wife Madysen; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her siblings, Bert Ross and wife Linda, Clearfield; Barbara Osbourne, Summerville, SC; sister-in-law's, Anita Ross, Deland, FL; and Judy McGuire, Holiday, FL.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Billy Roy Evans; her grand-son, Jonathan Gaines and four brothers, Lawrence McGuire, James Ross, John Ross and Edward Ross.
Betty was a member of the New Beginnings Baptist Church, Osceola Mills. She loved family, friends and church gatherings. She also enjoyed riding side-by-side with her husband. She had worked for Mt. View Motel, Kylertown for over 31 years until her retirement.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 9 to 11:00 AM at Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale until time of service at 11:00 AM, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Timothy Richmond officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at Palestine United Methodist Church, Morrisdale RD.
She will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery, Morrisdale RD.
