Her funeral service will be 3:00 PM Thursday afternoon, in Friendship United Methodist Church, Cross. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29406. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday evening in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER.
Mrs. Clarke was born July 30, 1956, in Moncks Corner, SC, a daughter of Clarence Cecil Hunter, Sr. and Della Ann Metts Hunter. She was a member of the Friendship United Methodist Church and received her Early Childhood Education degree from TTC. Mrs. Clark loved her dogs, Winston and Jackson, and her cat. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, camping and bingo with her friend Doty Moore. She was also a teacher at Berkeley Intermediate School for a brief time. Mrs. Clarke was predeceased by a siter, Brenda H. Frank; and a brother, Clarence Cecil Hunter, Jr. She was the widow of James Edward Clarke, Sr.
Surviving are two daughters, Leslie N. Clarke Williamson and her husband Eddie of Bannister Down, and Tina Clarke and her husband, Jessie Stone of Moncks Corner; a son, James E. Clarke, Jr. of Bannister Down; a brother, John Lawrence Hunter of Bannister Down; five grandchildren, Laurie Fowler and her husband Roger, Jessica Dooley and her husband Fred, Ashley Stone, Timothy Cross, and Nathaniel Clarke; and four great grandchildren, Emily, Braylen, Peightyn, and Weston.
