Robert L. "Bob" Edwards
Anderson – Robert L. "Bob" Edwards, 93, of Anderson, passed away on February 24, 2022, at the Ascension St. Vincent Anderson. He was born on January 7, 1929, in Rochester, NY.
Bob retired from Delco-Remy in 1989 after 38 years of service, many of those years as general sales manager and director of the Battery Strategic Business Unit.
He and his family loved spending time at Torch Lake in Michigan, where they had summered for over 60 years. Bob was also an avid Purdue fan and was a member of the John Purdue Club. Most importantly, Bob cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was a member of the Anderson Country Club and had been a member of the Kiwanis and Elks.
Bob was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 68 years, Mary Ann Edwards.
He is survived by his children, Susan Barber (Jeff), Anderson, and Robert Edwards (Charolette), Kalamazoo, MI; his grandchildren, Andrew Barber (Kiely), Jack Barber (Christin), and Sarah Edwards; his great-grandchildren, Ellen Barber, Reese Barber, Smith Barber, and Knight Barber; and his brother, Tom Edwards.
The family would like to thank the 5th-floor nurses at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson, Rebekah, Julie, Rae, Mercier, and Jessica for their special care.
Funeral services will be on Monday, February 28 at 1:00 P.M. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd Street, Anderson, with Rev. Don Deena Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
