Zelma Burris Johnson, 94, of Albemarle passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, in her home surrounded by her children.
Born August 8, 1927, in Stanly County, NC she was the daughter of the late Arnold Burris and Roxie Carter Burris.
n addition to her parents, a brother, and two sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband Robert Johnson in 1999.
Left to cherish her memories are her 6 children Gloria Muzgay (Joey) of Apache Junction, AZ, Bob Johnson (Kathy) of Albemarle, Donna Nichols of Albemarle, Vivian Chance (Wayne) of Albemarle, Marcia McDonald (Glenn) of Albemarle, and Robin Stanton (Tim) of Albemarle, 19 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be 3 PM on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Stony Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Kaye Frye officiating. The body will lie in state from 2 until 3 PM at the church prior to the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly or to Stony Hill United Methodist Church.
