"Gerald, always called Boney, was the fourth child and married Blanche Noirot. They lived across the Clearwater River to the south (first on Gerald's homestead where they had to haul water and later on Blanche's homestead on the Raven Creek) until the spring of 1947. Then they went to Trail, British Columbia where Gerald found work in a smelter. The following year they bought a place in Fruitvale, British Columbia, about ten miles from Trail. They have two girls and two boys, Lillis, Garry, Clayton, and Darlene. (Gerald and Blanche eventually divorced.)"
