Robert Kitchen Watkins, Sr., 92 of Clemmons entered the gates of heaven Sunday, February 20, 2022.
Robert was born in Granville County on April 23, 1929, to Oscar Kitchen Watkins and Hattie Sue Wheeler Watkins.
He was an honorably discharged member of the United States Army Reserve where he faithfully served for 33 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Lou, and siblings Clyde, Fannie Lou, James Dudley, Seby, Marionette, and Betty Jean.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving son, Robert Kitchen Watkins, Jr. (Melinda) of Lewisville; two daughters, Vickie Watkins Davis (David) of Durham and Gail Watkins Killman of Wilmington; a brother, Jack Watkins (Judy) of Oxford; and cherished grandson Noah Hunter Watkins.
A celebration of life service followed by a graveside burial with military honors will be held at Good Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. William R. Jarrett officiating Friday, February 25 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive visitors preceding the service starting at 1:00 pm in the church sanctuary. Memorials may be directed to Good Hope United Methodist Church at 10253 Hampton Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
